Description

My electric guitar while the Cort Viva Gold II is broken.

I bought it here to make up for the problem with my other guitar, which simply won't stay in tune, or when it does, tuning it takes the whole day. So this is a practice guitar. I've always liked the Strat shape, so far every guitar I've bought has been that shape. I really like SGs too, but I avoided buying one this time and went with a Strat because it's nicer. It's all black with a raw maple neck, and it's glossy.

Impressions

It's really good, and I didn't pay much for it. The pickups are very good, the build is very good and it's very durable, so it sounds really nice too.

The one thing I'd maybe change is the colour. The neck is raw maple with no darker wood on top, so it gets really dirty. It picks up marks from your hands, or gets stained with grease and goes black, which looks weird, makes it harder to play and starts to stick. Dark necks stick too, but at least it shows less. The body being all black and glossy makes it get dirty even faster.

Other than that it's super easy to play, super comfortable and very light. I don't take it places only because, next to other guitars, its sound really is inferior.

Final thoughts

It's really fun to play, and with pedals these days I'd say it doesn't make that much difference, you can emulate practically anything, so any guitar ends up close to the same thing. Maybe the pickups make more of a difference. I don't plan to change anything on this one, I've only swapped a few knobs and the rest is stock, different from my other guitar, which I plan to mess with a lot.
